Thermal shock resistance test

No. 2 samples of baking dishes to be tested were subjected to cycles of thermal shocks consisting of cooling the individual baking dishes previously conditioned in an oven starting from a temperature of 150 °C in running water.

The tests were conducted by leaving, for each cycle, the baking dishes in the oven at the chosen temperature for two hours in order to ensure that they reached thermal equilibrium, then, once removed from the oven, they were immediately immersed in running water until completely cooled. After this phase, each sample was examined, also with the use of appropriate dyes, in order to detect any visible alterations.

The samples that were found to be unchanged during this test were conditioned again in the oven, taking care to raise the temperature of the oven by 10°C each time and repeating the cycles described above.

The tested samples were all found to be intact at the end of the cycle at 200 °C.

From this temperature onwards, the tests continued with the same methods, and on the same samples, but with the use of a mould.

The maximum temperature was set at 250 °C and at the end of this cycle the samples were found to be intact.
